tween photography

Tweens.  The age between being a child and becoming a teen.  A time where kids are trying to figure out who they are and gain some independence, but may not always feel comfortable in their own skin.

Showing a tween how beautiful they are, at this point in their lives, is so important….

And you can check out one of my favorite images here.

my girls…

Every year I try to photograph my girls in the bluebonnets.  When we lived in Washington, DC - it was the cherry blossoms I liked to document them in.  Both are so iconic for DC and Texas and I love both equally.

This year I wasn’t going to do bluebonnet pictures, but then at the end of the season, I knew I would regret it if I didn’t capture them this year.  And I am so glad I did!  All I wanted was this first image of the 3 girls…. and I love it!

river ~ 1 year cake smash

Happy 1st Birthday River!!  Today is this little one’s 1st birthday and I was happy to photograph her smash cake session this past weekend.  She is the cutest 1 year old!  She was a bit hesitant about the cake and what to do with it, but slowly she got into it.

Before I get to her cake smash, here is a look back at her newborn session …..

And now onto her sweet cake smash!  Her mom did a great job in putting the backdrop together and I loved how it turned out!  Click here for one of my favorite images.

the groves family

I enjoyed photographing this family so much!  These twins were so sweet and silly with me.  Their Mama and I worked together over 10 years ago ~ her in Texas and me in DC ~ but we were on the phone and email everyday with each other!  We met at the Long Center and enjoyed exploring the area and running after these little girls capturing their infectious smiles and giggles.

the rogers family

This family won a session in a silent auction that was for our local Ducks Unlimited Chapter.  I was glad to meet up with them at this new-to-me location.  It was the perfect spot for a session with this family.  I love the colors and textures this location had.  Enjoy!
